25th November 2022 – 25th February 2023
A new exhibition by Christine Kowal Post explores man’s place in nature and how we see our relationship with the rest of the world.
Exhibition Talk: join curator Niall Hodson for a guided tour of the exhibition on Saturday 18th February, 12pm. Free, reserve your place on Eventbrite.
Kowal Post’s work considers the relationships we build with the natural world, other creatures, and each other. We are comfortable with embracing our shared physiology with animals, and have never considered ourselves physically superior to other members of the animal kingdom. Yet we cannot help looking for traits which make us not just unique within nature, but exceptional. So we imagine ourselves as intellectually exceptional, disconnected from other beings and with the right to dominion over nature.
“They Think They Are Fallen Angels” runs 25th November 2022 – 25th February 2023 in Gallery 13. Free entry, full details of opening times & how to find us can be found on our Visit Us page.
This is the third exhibition by Kowal Post that the Williamson has hosted, following exhibitions in 1987 and 1999. Her sculpture ‘Eggs’ is a hugely popular work in the Williamson’s permanent collections.
