Space is the Place Act 2: A Transfigured Movement in Time is the second collaborative exhibition from Patric Rogers and Angelo Madonna. In this multi-media art and film experience the artists explore concepts of psychogeography and psycho-magic through a series of conceptual and symbolic artworks and film.
Space is the Place Act 2 encourages the viewer to consider the processes and practices through which we, as human beings, connect aspects of our conscience such as memories, associations, myth, and folklore to the landscapes we inhabit.
The exhibition runs in Gallery 3 (with a viewing space extending into Gallery 2) 17th September – 29th October. Free entry. Full details of how to find us & opening times can be found on our Visit Us page.

a space within/ out a place is a performative lecture, a journey and a creative exploration in ten movements. Hilbre Island acts as protagonist and main activator of the event – a talk informed by speculative fiction intersecting spirituality, imagination, resistance, activism and ancestral mythopoetic.
Dr Silvia Battista is a performance artist and scholar, senior lecturer at Liverpool Hope University, author of the book Posthuman Spiritualities in Contemporary Performance: Politics, Ecologies and Perceptions and only editor of the publication The Performances of Scared Places: Crossing, Breathing and Resisting

Patric Rogers is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist and filmmaker based in Wirral, Merseyside. For the last ten years his approach to art making has included an international award-winning short film My Iron Lung, sculpture, painting, illustration photography, animation, poetry and music.
Frequently focusing on the hidden nature of the self both internal and external his most recent works have explored our connection to our sense of place through psychogeography, history, folklore, mythology in particular as to how they combine to create connection with the places we inhabit.

Originally from Southern Italy, Angelo Madonna is a multidisciplinary artist and teacher based in Liverpool. He was formally trained in nautical science and mechanical engineering, followed by an education in fine art, sculpture and new media.
For the last fifteen years his approach to art making has included: sculpture, sound and video installation, site-specific interventions, performances, and Arduinotechnology.
As an electronic performer/sculptor he is also a Theremin player, an instrument which closely relates to his interests.
His work has been presented in various site-specific venues and institutions in London, Liverpool and Italyand he has collaborated with several artists including: Nicola Rae; actress Alakananda Samath; poet/writer/entrepreneur David Ellis; artist/poet/writer John Elcock; performer/writer Silvia Battista, and at present artist and film-maker Paddy Rogers. He is the co-founder of the Liverpool based collective Material Matters and 2021 recipient of the residency at the Bidston Observatory in the Wirral.
